AlcheraBio, founded in 2001, has been part of the Argenta Group since 2008 and is an industry leader in veterinary clinical studies. As a contract research organisation (CRO) and animal health consultancy group, the team are dedicated to helping companies achieve their clinical trial goals on time, within budget, and with high-quality data. Their work has contributed to many medical therapies that now improve the lives of animals around the world.
To unite our global company into one brand, we renamed AlcheraBio to Argenta. The brand unification amplifies our comprehensive Molecule to Market services portfolio and the seamless experience that we can provide to our customers across the full product development journey.
“Under this one Argenta brand, we will continue to challenge ourselves and keep innovating to develop the best animal health technologies, products, services and partnerships.” says Dr Edward McGruder, Global Head of Research, Development and Innovation.
Behind our brand are our people. It's the people who drive our Molecule to Market solutions, it’s the people behind the science and innovation and it’s the people who shape the company culture.
Argenta’s CEO Ben Russell adds, “This name change is a renewed commitment from us all to truly win as a team by working closely together across Argenta in the interest of helping our customers get their molecules to market quickly and efficiently.“
"Even though our name changes, the passion of our team to keep advancing animal health will stay the same.” says Bryan Beaird, Head of Clinical R&D.

About Argenta
Since 2006, we've built our reputation and expertise on a singular focus. To this day, we are the world's only combined global contract research organisation (CRO) and contract manufacturing organisation (CMO) specialising in animal health.
Founded in 2006 in New Zealand by Doug Cleverly, a scientist who naturally felt more at home in the lab solving problems than in the boardroom, Doug imbued the company with the spirit of Kiwi ingenuity and a global perspective. He saw a need in the market for an animal health company that could provide the highest quality services to customers of all sizes, all over the world. We are still dedicated solely to animal health, and our founder's legacy of problem solving and inventiveness lives on within the organisation.
A global footprint for R&D, clinical services and manufacturing
We are unique in the industry by bringing innovation, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical services and manufacturing together to deliver quality outcomes to our customers across our multiple areas of expertise, with operations in New Zealand, the UK, and the USA. Our 450+ team are working with top global animal health pharmaceutical companies as well as innovative start-ups, exporting products and services to over 50 countries.
