A collaborative and pragmatic leader with an impressive track record of legal experience in domestic and international transactions, Donald Smith is Argenta’s General Counsel.
The General Counsel is responsible for all legal matters at Argenta, including M&A and corporate governance matters, and advises senior management and the Board of Directors.
With 20 years of legal experience in major international law firms (including as a Partner) and in a senior in-house role, Donald has broad expertise in company and commercial law matters. Prior to joining Argenta, Donald was a Partner in the Corporate team at Dentons. Before that, he served as Senior Counsel M&A at BP plc; and earlier in his career Managing Associate, Corporate Department at Linklaters LLP.
Donald got introduced to Argenta when he advised the company on the acquisition of Elanco's Dundee Animal Health business from Eli Lilly & Co.
