Stephan has 30 years of experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotech service industry, building and managing successful contract development and manufacturing (CDMO/CMO) service enterprises.
Before co-founding his own boutique advising firm, AKDYS LLC, Stephan was President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alcami Corporation, a provider of fully integrated and clinically focused process and formulation development, analytical and drug substance/product manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.
Stephan joined Alcami after serving 20 years as Chief Operating Officer, President and Divisional CEO of Lonza’s Pharma and Biotech division, part of the global chemicals and biotechnology company, Lonza Group AG. He also served as Chief Operating Officer and President for several other Lonza branches, including Lonza Custom Manufacturing, Lonza Biopharmaceuticals, TL Biopharmaceuticals, Lonza Performance Chemicals and Lonza Fine Chemicals.
Stephan was a member of the Board of Directors of DCAT from 2012 – 2018 and DCAT’s 1 st Vice President in 2019.
Stephan earned a master’s degree in Chemical and Process Engineering and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Engineering Sciences (Chemical Engineering) from the Technical University of Munich, Germany.
